Random MLB Team Picker
All 30 clubs, one spin. For fantasy drafts, The Show matchups and bets that need a neutral referee.
Thirty clubs, drawn at random
Every MLB club with an equal chance of each. Useful because baseball fandom runs deeper on geography than most sports - people inherit a team rather than choose one, which makes a random assignment genuinely unfamiliar territory.
That unfamiliarity is the appeal. Following a club you have no history with, for a season or a week, is a different experience from watching your own, and picking one deliberately never quite works.
A 162-game season changes the maths
Baseball plays nearly every day for six months, which makes it the sport where random assignment is least punishing. A bad draw in the NFL means seventeen games of regret; a bad draw in baseball means there is another one tomorrow.
It also means the season is long enough to develop an actual attachment to a club you were assigned. That does not happen in a seventeen-game season, and it is why this particular wheel gets used for whole-season commitments rather than single games.
Fantasy, The Show, and franchise play
For draft order, put the managers' names on the wheel, turn Remove on, and spin until it is empty. Baseball fantasy leagues run the longest of any sport, so the order has to be beyond dispute on day one - there are six months for a grudge to develop.
For The Show's franchise mode, a random club forces a different problem to solve: a small-market team is a payroll puzzle, a contender is a win-now one, and choosing between them yourself means always picking the same kind.
Wheels worth building
- League only. Fifteen AL or NL clubs, which is a cleaner wheel and the right scope for league-specific play.
- Division rivalries. Five teams for a series where every matchup carries history.
- Small market only. A harder franchise challenge, chosen at random rather than picked - which is the version that actually tests you.
Settling the everyday stuff
Which game to put on when six are playing at once. Which club to follow for a week as a neutral. Who takes which team in a game of backyard ball where nobody wants to be the one rebuilding.
These are choices where any answer works, which is precisely when handing it to a wheel is better than spending five minutes on it.

Questions
MLB Team Wheel FAQ
Does the wheel include all 30 MLB teams?
Yes, all 30 clubs with an equal chance of each. The list uses club names rather than cities and can be edited to whatever form you prefer.
Can I limit it to the American or National League?
Yes. Paste just those fifteen clubs and the wheel rebuilds, which makes for a more readable wheel and the right scope for league-specific play.
How do I assign clubs to a whole fantasy league?
Turn on Remove mode and spin once per manager. Each club comes off the wheel after it is drawn, so nobody can end up with a duplicate.
Can I use it for draft order instead?
Yes - put the managers' names on the wheel rather than the clubs, turn on Remove, and spin until empty. Baseball leagues run six months, so a draft order everyone watched is worth the minute it takes.
Can I weight it toward small-market teams?
Yes. Giving those clubs more of the wheel makes for a harder franchise challenge, and the split is visible on the rim rather than hidden.
